Would you consider building or remodeling a house without plans with which to work from? Think about the costly mistakes that could be made along the way. How would you know that it would all come together in the end and that all the intricate systems that make up a home would function normally?
It is the same when you are starting or growing a business. Without a plan to work from how would you know what steps to take to help your business grow? Or where to look to judge whether or not a certain plan had been successful? Having a clear market plan will help you to set future goals for your business. The following are six suggestions to follow when creating a marketing plan:
- Purpose- Have a clearly outlined reason for creating your plan. Some of these could be obtaining funding for a new project, increasing profits, or building your customer base.
- Analysis- It is important to know where you are starting from. An analysis of your business will give you an idea of what needs to be accomplished.
- Strategy- A clear plan designed to accomplish your purpose.
- Marketing Programs- This is the main part of your marketing plan where you will describe in detail the new pricing, increased distribution, etc. You will also provide a brief history of current marketing strategies.
- Budgeting and Performance- Here you will state the budget needed to accomplish the plan and the expected results and possibly a time table. This last part is where you will basically sell your plan.
Following a business marketing plan will help you and your employees to be able to construct your business in a way which will give it a firm foundation and give it strength to grow. Phillip Thow Scottsdale Arizona
